The 2017 season for the Marion Flag Football is currently open for registration effective June 1st and will close July 10th.
Here is some relevant information.
All students entering 1st thru 4th grade are eligible.
The 2017 registration fee is $55.
There will be a mandatory skills assessment on August 1st. 1st and 2nd grade will be at 5:30pm, 3rd and 4th grade will be at 6:30pm. The location of assessment will be at the Crisp Sports Complex next to the Marion High School. Please plan on making arrangements for your child to attend. This assessment is required to figure out where the child ranks in order to create a fair and computer generated random draft/teams. If your child cannot attend, please contact Rashad Rucker at
to make other arrangements. Any child who does not get an assessment will not be allowed to participate and the registration fee will be returned.
What your registration fees pay for :
One mouth guard (NFL provided)
One double-sided fully licensed jersey (home and away), Head Coach picks the team (NFL provided)
Flags (NFL provided)
NOTE : All the above are items (provided by the NFL) you will get to keep at the end of the season. Some parents opt to donate the flags back to the league, but the majority keep their flags.
Please note that any concessions at games are not part of the registration fees. All proceeds at concessions are used to help keep the fees as low as possible. So more concessions means lower registration fees.
Some suggestions and requirements :
There are local stores that have clear plastic mouth guards for less than $1. Most other places are $3. It is recommended to have several spares. Some Coaches start requiring mouth guards a few practices in, prior to the NFL one showing up. Plus a single mouth guard will likely not last very long.
Bring water or Gatorade to every practice and game for your child.
Mouth guard, flags, and the NFL provided jersey are required to play in the games.
Please note that flags must be on the outside of the childs clothing for games. Shirts tucked in giving free access to the flags.
